Background: ChemR23
ChemR23 is a chemoattractant receptor expressed on dendritic cells and inflammatory M1 macrophages. ChemR23 binds Chemerin and Resolvin E1 (a lipid mediator), and promotes inflammation resolution. ChemR23 also functions as a coreceptor for SIV and some primary HIV-1 strains (1,2). Mouse and human ChemR23 share 80% amino acid sequence identity.
